About Believe
The Believe Service Organization (Formerly "CREER") was founded in 2004 in a small farming village in the mountains of Costa Rica. Founders, Joshua and Kristin "Luna" Canter moved to the village in 2003 and were so touched be the hospitality, generosity, and spirit of the local Costa Rica community that they wanted to find a way to sustainably give back.
Luna and Joshua both had backgrounds in international community studies and partnered with a Costa Rican man, Mauricio Jaen, to launch CREER in 2004. CREER's first projects were focused around La Florida and the communities surrounding it.
The first CREER projects assisted in the support of building a community library, health clinic, and establishing a microfinance program to fund local small businesses.
By 2007, CREER had grown to support several communities on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. By 2009, CREER had projects throughout the country. In 2010, CREER ventured outside of the borders of Costa Rica for the first time.
CREER is a Non-Profit Organization.
CREER is a project of Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs (SEE), a non-profit public charity exempt from federal income tax under Section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Visit www.saveourplanet.org for more information.

Our Vision
Through ongoing education, research, and experience working with communities around the world, "Believe" is discovering strategies to help provide sustainable solutions to vulnerable around the world. With a focus on the rural areas of the country, "Believe" gives support by offering resources such as jobs, educational programs, micro-loans, and volunteer opportunities that will result in balance and long-lasting opportunities for the Costa Rican people. It is "Believe's" goal to look in depth at the true needs of the people of this incredible country, offering all that is possible in fulfilling its mission.
